Week of January 29th: Fourth Sunday In Ordinary Time
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we find that Jesus “… went around all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness among the people.”
Your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul proclaims the gospel of the kingdom and brings healing to the broken hearts of those who live in poverty.
*Checks made payable to Society of St. Vincent DePaul and dropped in the collection baskets will help us serve our neighbors in need throughout the Greenlawn area.
Week of January 22nd: Third Sunday In Ordinary Time
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we find that Jesus “… went around all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness among the people.”
This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to proclaim the good news of the kingdom to the poor, by assisting families by providing food, gifts, utilities and rent bills.
Week of January 15th: Second Sunday In Ordinary Time
Today we celebrate the feast of the Epiphany, where the Magi find the newborn king and offer him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
In the spirit of the Magi, please put your gift in the St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box so that comfort and peace can once again be given to a newborn child.
Week of January 8th: The Epiphany of the Lord
Today we celebrate the feast of the Epiphany, where the Magi find the newborn king and offer him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
In the spirit of the Magi, please put your gift in the St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box so that comfort and peace can once again be given to a newborn child.
Week of January 1st: New Year’s Day the Solemnity
of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today is the feast of Mary, Mother of God. Like Mary may we always treasure the events in our life and reflect on them in our heart.
Please remember to support the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in 2023 so that together we can continue to bring comfort and peace to our brothers and sisters who are poor and suffering. May the peace and joy of the New Year be yours!
Thanksgiving Can Inspire Gratitude in Action From Growing in Faith, November, 2023
St. Mother Teresa said, “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” At Thanksgiving we bask in the glow of our blessings, but it’s also a chance to share them with others. This is “gratitude in action.”
