The Eucharistic Congress From Ellen Lobasso

Nov 12, 2023 | Ministries

After months of prayerful planning, our pilgrimage site was realized – the shrine of the North American Martyrs at Auriesville, NY. A downpour started our Friday morning departure without dampening our spirits; by 3:30pm, the hour of mercy, sunshine greeted us at St. Kateri Tekakwitha’s baptismal chapel in humble Fonda, NY. As the hostess of our journey, Our Lady provided a great dinner, comfortable rooms, and an excellent bus driver. Saturday was filled with an inspiring procession of clergy into the coliseum church for Holy Mass celebrated at the main altar. There were noted speakers, music by religious, and an outdoor Eucharistic procession with thousands in attendance.

We prayed, we laughed, and we loved the priesthood, the religious, and our 8,000 pilgrims assembled more than ever. Jesus brought us together in a way that had not been seen at the shrine since the 1950’s. His church rejoiced in His presence, and the world was refreshed by His superabundant Sacrifice.
