PB & J GANG IN PERSON, OR IN YOUR HOME!

Jan 15, 2023 | Social

The PB & J Gang made a total of 648 sandwiches on Sunday, December 18, delivering them to Mercy Soup Kitchen in Wyandanch, and to Helping Hands Rescue Mission in Huntington. Thank you to everyone who helped out!

The holidays are over, but food insecurity and hunger do not pay attention to calendars. Preparing and helping with sandwiches is a good way to fulfill community service hours for school, Confirmation class, scout troops, or just to gather with friends for a great cause. Come join Leslie Kulewicz, Ivonne Porpora and the PB & J Gang Sunday evening, January 15 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the lower church.

No Zoom for the moment as our connection is a bit under the weather, but you can make sandwiches in your home, and contact team leader Leslie Kulewicz at (631)896-4837 or by email to lesliekulewicz@hotmail.com to make arrangements to hand off the sandwiches afterwards. Her team will take it from there and deliver the food to grateful local organizations the following day. Anyone can participate!

And if you like to plan ahead, following are the dates for PB & J meetings for 2023. All are Sundays from 6:30-8:00pm in the lower church.

All Eyes were Smiling! A St. Patrick’s Day Dinner/Dance Recap

It was a grand evening for everyone, Irish or otherwise! 135 people attended the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance at St. Francis on March 11, dancing to the music of Irish group Buoy 34, and entertained by the Irish step dancers from the Doherty/Petry School of Irish Dance, and the bagpipe tunes of Nicholas Minguillon. Judges Lisa Love and Liz Cook chose Carol Queally and Leslie Kulawicz the winners of the Soda Bread contest from among 10 entries.
