All Eyes were Smiling! A St. Patrick’s Day Dinner/Dance Recap

Mar 19, 2023 | Community

It was a grand evening for everyone, Irish or otherwise! 135 people attended the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance at St. Francis on March 11, dancing to the music of Irish group Buoy 34, and entertained by the Irish step dancers from the Doherty/Petry School of Irish Dance, and the bagpipe tunes of Nicholas Minguillon. Judges Lisa Love and Liz Cook chose Carol Queally and Leslie Kulawicz the winners of the Soda Bread contest from among 10 entries. Thanks to all who participated, as everyone benefitted with no crumbs left over!

Everyone feasted on traditional corned beef and cabbage, and plenty of sides. The 50/50 Pot of Gold Raffle was a huge success with Paul Russo declared the winner, and Amelia Colamussi the proud 2nd place recipient of Mets tickets. Door prizes went to Maryann Farmer, Ann Saxer, and Maureen Restivo.

Special heartfelt thanks to Andy Terc for all the prize donations, to Steven Hearl for our 2nd place prize, and to the Greenlawn Fire Department for their assistance.

We deeply appreciate the efforts of the following people who helped to make the event such a success – Deacon Jean Cantave,Tom Corrigan, Maryann and Ron Farmer, Jim Gribbins, Clare Intemann, Lorraine Longo, Mark McDermott, Anita Modelewski, Mike Mordarski, Stan Sadowski, and the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council.

Thank you too, Sharon Collins and Deacon Allan Longo for organizing

a perfect evening for fellowship and fun for all!
