St. Vincent de Paul – February 2023

Feb 26, 2023 | Social, St. Vincent de Paul

St Vincent DePaul Society is a Catholic lay organization that leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.

Week of February 26th: First Sunday of Lent

Lent is a call to “give alms for the poor.” Wherever you live in the parish, there are poor families within walking distance of your home. When in need, they ring the rectory bell. They are, in effect, ringing your doorbell.

Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St.Vincent de Paul so that together we can help the suffering and poor.

*Checks made payable to Society of St. Vincent DePaul and dropped in the collection baskets will help us serve our neighbors in need throughout the Greenlawn area.

Week of February 19th: Seventh Sunday In Ordinary Time

In today’s Gospel, Jesus challenges us by saying: “You must be perfected as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to assist families by providing food, untilities, rent bulls and etc. Thank you!

Week of February 12th: Sixth Sunday In Ordinary Time

In the Gospel Jesus says: “Whoever fulfills and teaches these commands shall be great in the kingdom of God.”

By your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul you indeed put your faith into action as you fulfill the commands of Jesus.

Week of February 5th: Fifth Sunday In Ordinary Time

In the Gospel today, Jesus says, “You are the light of the world,” he is calling us to live our Christian vocation in words and deeds.

Be a “light” to those living in poverty and in a world of darkness by giving a donation to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
