Sealed With the Gift of the HOLY SPIRIT!
The Sacrament of Confirmation was celebrated at St. Francis with great joy on Sunday April 30. It may have been raining and chilly outside, but our Church was warm and bright with the love of the Holy Spirit! Bishop John Dunne, a longtime friend of St. Francis of Assisi, administered the sacrament to 36 young women and men in our Religious Education program. The beautiful pictures you see were taken by rectory secretary Sharon Collins, a wonderful photographer, who volunteered to take pictures throughout the Mass including individual ones of each child as they were anointed with Holy Chrism. We send our thanks to Bishop Dunne, Fr. Peter, Fr. Francois, Deacon Allan, Deacon Jim and the Bishop’s assistant, Deacon Dan Otton. Thank you also goes to teachers in our other grades who ushered at the Mass.
To Peter Schubart and members of the music ministry, thank you for your loving devotion in providing our church with such beautiful music for the occasion. May our new Confirmands be blessed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and use them often throughout their lives!
All photos taken at Confirmation by Mrs. Collins can be found on the St. Francis website at

A Loving Parent
There’s a core Jewish teaching: Never go to bed angry. It’s also standard advice to married couples. In Psalm 103, God’s posture is that of a loving parent: “slow to anger, and abounding in kindness,” no matter how much we disappoint.
