A Message from Fr. Joseph Habila
I am Fr Joseph Habila from Nigeria, working in St Matthew’s RC Church in Dix Hills.
Through the invitation of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus here in St Francis of Assisi
church some few years ago, the Pastor Fr. Peter accepted that I come every Wednesday at
6:30 – 7:30 pm to lead the Holy Hour of Reparation including confessions and I bless religious
items afterwards. I thank Fr Peter for graciously allowing me to speak to you in all the
weekend Masses of 3rd and 4th August to appeal for funds in respect of building a church
in my village in Nigeria. The name of the church in my village is Saints Peter and
Paul Lafiyan Sara Kwara, Nigeria.
My village is a rural area with no basic needs like electricity, running water, good roads, so the
people are so poor that it will take them years to finish building a church. I see my presence
here in the United States of America as an opportunity to help in building the church for them
through the generosity of the good people here. No amount is too big or too small and every
single dollar donated will go a long way in putting a smile on the faces of the people as they see
the church being built.
The entire Parish of Saints Peter and Paul Lafiyan Sara Kwara, Nigeria will remain eternally
grateful for your generous donations toward their church building.
Thank you and God bless in anticipation for your generous giving.
~Fr. Joseph Habila, St Matthew’s RC Church, 35, North Service Road, Dix Hill, NY 11746.
