What a happy and warm-hearted event it was! The Blessing of Animals – pets and teddy bears too, all in honor of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, our Parish Patron. Francis’ name from the very beginning has been associated with love and friendship with animals of all classes. The animal stories of the larks, the lambs, the wolf of Gubbio are testimony to the harmony Francis brought about among all creatures and
the immediate presence of God in the world. Our pets and indeed all animals are an important part of the fabric of our lives, carrying on Francis’ message of love for our environment and all God’s creation.
