Religious Education Receives Gifts

Apr 10, 2022 | Religious Education, Respect Life, Social

The Respect Life Committee of St. Francis has donated two very special items to the Religious Education program in our parish.

The first gift, a beautiful model of the stages of growth of an unborn child, now hangs prominently in the lower church along with cards that describe a baby’s development at each stage. From the first day that it was displayed, it has been a constant source of curiosity among the children, and has provided many powerful teaching moments for the catechists.

The second gift is the book “When You Became You” by Brooke Stanton and Christiane West. A gentle story with loving illustrations, it tells the scientific journey of how each unique person’s life began: we are human from the first moment of our existence. The Committee gifted 13 copies of the book to Religious Education. The book and its important lesson will be part of the Grade 3 curriculum.

All of us involved in St. Francis Religious Education wish to give our heartfelt thanks to the Respect Life Committee for these meaningful additions to our program. Both will serve as reminders of the precious sanctity of life.
