Open House Invitation to Long Island’s Catholic High Schools

Catholic high schools present their own unique opportunity for students to explore a faith-based education that challenges, inspires, and prepares them for college, careers, and life. The total experience makes the difference in a Catholic education, known for rigorous academic learning, engaging extra-curricular activities, and a strong foundation in faith. Schools hold open house events so students and parents can explore which school might be right for them. Families can learn first-hand about programs, facilities, faculty, activities and the character of each institution, and ask questions in person. Websites offer a wealth of information, but a visit to the campus can add a lot to the decision. A schedule of open houses is listed below, however it is best to check the school’s website before the date to make sure there have been no changes.
Apart from open houses, the application process begins with the test for admission to Catholic high schools (TACHS), scheduled for November 2020. Students interested in taking the exam must register by October 23 at the website; there will be no walk-in or late registration permitted this year. Students who wish to apply for extended time to take the exam must submit their request by October 9. The website also offers sample tests, a handbook guide, answers to questions, and selection of up to three schools which are to receive a student’s scores.
